Saulius Matikonis – ny tränare för herrlaget!

Välkommen till Sollentuna VK!
Vi är oerhört stolta över att kunna presentera den nye tränaren för Sollentunas herrlag, Saulius Matikonis!

Salius kommer ursprungligen från Litauen och har en lång imponerande meritlista. Han har länge varit en framgångsrik tränare i Litauen och har nu senast tillbringat två säsonger i klubben Amber Volley. Den senaste säsongen vann laget ligaguld och gick helt obesegrade genom seriespelet och även den i inhemska cupen som man också vann. Inte nog med det debuterade även Amber-Arlanga med Matikonis i spetsen i ”Credit24 Champions League” (Baltiska ligan) där man även lyckades kvalificera sig för slutspel.

Efter över tio år i Litauen tar nu Salius nästa steg i sin karriär här hos oss i Sollentuna VK. Vi är oerhört glada att vi tillsammans nu nått en överenskommelse och ser förväntansfullt fram emot den kommande säsongen!

Saulius egna ord om flytten till SVK:
– I want to express my gratitude to all of the people who contributed and made this possible – genuine thank you! I have felt very optimistic since the first call from SVK, I believe we are a good fit for each other and I will contribute to the best of my ability.
I am looking forward to meeting all the members of the club in the following weeks. We have a lot of preparational work to do in the summer and I am keen to start as soon as possible!

Sportchef Ulla Grundstedt tillägger:
– We are very happy to welcome our new Head Coach to the men’s team – Saulius Matikonis! Saulius will join the club in the beginning of August. He has a long track record, he has been coaching in Lithuania for the past 10 years and has done so very successfully.
– The last two seasons, Saulius has been coaching the team AMBER-ARLANGA and it has been the best season in the club’s history, where they won gold in both the league and also in the Lithuanian Cup without losing a single game. We believe that Saulius will be a great contribution to our team and are very much looking forward to the new season.
