After tough start of the season, SVK female team were facing Engelholms Volleybollsällskap. In a home game played in Sollentuna Sport- & Simhall our girls lost the match 1:3.
SVK opened the game in a bit slower pace and the score in the start was 2:4 for EVS. After a quick consolidation and a few strong attacks from Sofia Täcktor and Viktoria Nordström SVK was in the lead 10:7 and the EVS forced to call for a Time-Out. That didn’t stop our girls to continue playing on a high level and after a while the score was 18:15 for the home team. However, SVK lacked a focus to finish the set and EVS took advantage of that, turning the game around. Final score of the first set was 20:25 for Engelholm.
Driven by the sudden turn of events EVS started second set aggressively. They led 8:16 and finished the set with the score 14:25. Most points won young and perspective EVS opposite spiker Isabelle Haak.
It looked like its going to be a straight 0:3 win for the guests, but SVK had not yet said a final word. Even when the score in the third set was 10:15 for EVS, home team kept fighting furiously. Two great blocks from Anita Nolsjö, ace and a block from Sofia Täcktor and the set was tied 23:23. EVS even had a match point, but strong attacks from Madelene Green and Sofia Täcktor made sure that the set goes for the home team – 28:26
Fourth set was similar to the second. Engelholm fought back hard and with brilliant play by Isabelle Haak they led 10:16. Continued on in strong manner to win the final set 16:25.
Even though Sollentuna lost their fourth game in a row, things actually started to look better. It seems everything is slowly falling into place and girls are taking a step forward to rise from the difficult start of the season.
