semifinal: Sollentuna – Lindesberg 1-3 (25-23, 21-25, 22-25, 23-25)
Lindesberg overall was the stronger team in the match and deserved the win. We had our chances though, especially in the 3rd set, but lacked the aggressiveness to really go after the win ourselves. Lots of credit to Matilda who set another very good match despite some up and down service reception. The best player for Sollentuna was Emmy Blouin who has showed great consistency in both her reception and attacking game. Libero Cissi Skoog also had a great match and kept many plays alive with great defense and covering on blocks.
bronsmatch: Sollentuna – Katrineholm 1-3 (25-23, 21-25, 22-25, 23-25)
Overall we showed a better aggressive style than in the semifinals. Katrineholm played really well however and american middle blocker Ingrid Hansson had a great match, both attacking and blocking. Emily Turner started the match setting for Solletuna and played very well throughout. Kristiina Raap and Anna Harlin came in often off the bench as part of a double sub, and both made many positive contributions each time. All the sets were tight and Sollentuna did very well earning points in sideout when it mattered most. Katrineholm however was also very strong in that regard and proved to be just a touch better overall.
Looking forward, the team feels the strong competition at GP will have them ready to play well on the road Sunday in Hylte. Both Lindesberg and Katrineholm are very dependent on their left side attackers to score points for them, and the experience from those two matches should prove to be a big help in preparing for Hylte’s polish duo of Ewa and Marta.
